3 Places that are Often Forgotten when Cleaning

Even if you have a cupboard full of janitorial supplies and a regular cleaning schedule, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have the cleanest of environments.

Even the most thorough of cleaners can forget about those hard to reach or lesser thought of areas, so where should we be directing our attention to ensure that we’re thoroughly cleaning the whole room – not just the parts that we remember?

Look On Top

Although you probably make a conscious effort to clean the top of every item in a room, it’s easy to forget those high up places or areas which might not be constantly in your line of sight.

Remember to check the top of curtain rails, large appliances such as fridges and under hard to reach areas such as on the top of washing machines and other appliances which can be hidden under countertops.

It’s also worth running a duster over the top of any doors and doorframes – they are some of the biggest culprits for collecting hidden dust!

Don’t Forget Underneath

You may vacuum the floor regularly, but are you really making sure that you hoover every part of it? What about sweeping and mopping?

You may think that you’re getting all the dirt and debris off the most important areas by cleaning what you can see, but you’re probably missing some of the dirtiest areas; underneath any appliances or furniture which can easily be moved such as ovens or refrigerators.

Not only will this help keep the amount of bacteria which is in the environment down, it will also help reduce the chances of the appliances breaking down in the future from the build-up of dirt and grime underneath them!

Remember Your Cleaning Supplies, Too!

Did you know that your cleaning supplies need a good clean, too? Whether it’s toilet brushes, dusters, sponges or even your vacuum cleaner, you need to make an effort to keep them clean to avoid the spread of bacteria and help you in your cleaning activities; cleaning with a dirty duster of sponge will only make your job harder!

Make sure you’re regularly cleaning all your supplies; even bottles can do with a wipe down every now and then to remove product build up. Make sure you’re also actively replacing items when required, too – this will help you get a deeper clean, especially when those sponges or toilet brushes can’t seem to shift dirt and grime as well as they could when they were new!
